The international ship building group Aker Yards designs and builds sophisticated vessels and is one of the world’s largest ship builders, operating 18 yards in eight countries and employing around 20,000 people. Its annual turnover has more than doubled from EUR 1.5 billion to around EUR 3.5 billion since its 2004 stockmarket listing.
After evaluating a range of potential partners, including its three existing suppliers, Aker Yards decided to outsource the management of its entire IT infrastructure, including 1,400 desktop systems, to Fujitsu.
